Virtually hired: Why I can’t wait to meet my colleagues after working with them for six months

I interviewed for my dream academic librarian position in July 2020. was thrilled beyond words to be hired as the nursing University of San Diego August Yes, during COVID-19 pandemic. interviewed, hired, and began working entirely on Zoom. It has been, continues be, a unique strange experience.I have joined new colleagues committee meetings faculty meetings. collaborated with them our library’s newsletter annual report. consulted some LibGuides, instructional videos, faculty’s database usage interlibrary loan statistics. done all this sitting at kitchen table, which, like many tables, quickly morphed into work area. yet physical presence co-workers. engage exclusively their heads torsos laptop screen. do not know what kind shoes any wear.
